Vinod Khadkikar

(Professor, EECS Department, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE)

Vinod Khadkikar is an IEEE Fellow and a Professor in the EECS Department at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He received M. Tech. from IIT Delhi in 2002 and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the ETS, Montreal, Canada, in 2008. From December 2008 to March 2010, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada. From April 2010 to December 2010, he was a Visiting Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. He has contributed over 65 IEEE Transactions papers. He was ranked 148 among 100,000 researchers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the list of world’s top 2% of career-long scientists as of November 2020 released by Stanford University. Dr. Khadkikar is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications and IET Power Electronics. His research interests include applications of power electronics in distribution systems and renewable energy resources, grid interconnection issues, power quality enhancement, active power filters and electric vehicles.

Sivaneasan Bala Krishnan

(Assistant Professor, Singapore Institute of Technology, Singapore)

Dr Sivaneasan received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2007 and 2012 respectively In 2019, he joined Singapore Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professor. He is registered as Chartered Engineer with UK Engineering Council. Dr Sivaneasan conducted research and development in the areas of power engineering in particular microgrids and smart grid technologies. He has published 9 journal papers and 16 conference papers. He also co-authored a scholarly book chapter on Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) for a book titled "Energy Storage for Smart Grids: Planning and Operation for Renewable and Variable Energy Resources (VERs)". In addition, he also won the “Best Innovation in Renewable Energy” award at National Instruments ASEAN Graphical System Design Achievement Awards for his work on a functional smart grid prototype. His work on IoT based electrical asset management system at a local shipyard won the Best Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference in Power Engineering Applications (ICPEA 2022). He has also won two Best Educator Awards with Nanyang Polytechnic and Singapore Institute of Technology. Currently, Dr Sivaneasan is actively involved in applied research projects with strategic industry partners to help the organizations implement new technologies that help improve productivity and work efficiency while ensuring a sustainable operation. His current research focuses on advanced metering infrastructure, condition monitoring system, renewable energy technologies, electric vehicles, energy storage systems, building energy management systems, demand response and smart grids. He has taught various industry relevant Continuing Education and Training (CET) programs for working adults and foreign participants.

Farheen Chishti

(Research Engineer, General Electric, Bangalore, India)

Farheen Chishti (M’17) has received her B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, India in 2011 and M.Tech degree (Gold Medalist) in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (S.L.I.E.T), India in 2013. She joined as an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering Department in SRMSCET, Bareilly, India till early 2016. She started her Ph.D. degree in the department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi, India (2016-2022). Her areas of research interests include, wind and solar energy generation system, energy storage, microgrid, power electronics, application of adaptive and intelligent control. Mrs. Chishti is a recipient of IEEE-IEEMA best paper award in 2018 and recipient of second best paper award in SLIETCON-2019. She has published over 40+ research articles including papers in the IEEE Transactions and IET Journal. She has 4 pending patents during her Ph.D. Currently, she has joined the global research centre (GRC) division of General Electric company as a research engineer for the field of power electronic and power system. She is working toward the projects of microgrid control and wind power generation.

Lata Gidwani

(Associate Professor, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, India)

Dr. Lata Gidwani received B.E. degree in electrical engineering from C.T.A.E. Udaipur in 2000, the M.E. degree from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, India in 2002 and Ph.D degree from MNIT, Jaipur in 2012. She is working as Associate Prof. in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. Her research interests include renewable energy, power system, power electronics. Her research papers are published in reputed International Journals and in various International and National conferences. She has delivered expert lectures in various FDP and workshops. She has organized various FDP, conferences, expert lecture and workshops. She is editor and reviewer of various journals.
